In 2015, my kids shared a story with me about physical and emotional abuse from a family member. For many of them, they have experienced physical, sexual, and emotional abuse from their relationship choices, bullying, depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, suicide attempts, cutting, etc. Not things a Mom wants to watch her kids experience.
Their story motivated me to share my own story of growing up in dysfunction, and in 2016 I wrote my book. I wanted to be an example to my kids and for them to know they weren’t alone in their struggle, even if the “issue” is different. I also wanted them to be unafraid of sharing their story, getting help, and building a support team and tools. I had to get past my own fear in sharing MY story if I wanted to encourage them to embrace their own. It’s amazing how little fear I had when my motivation was to help my children.
And, so, when I stopped working in a non-profit and in foster care, my husband encouraged me to take time off and write my book. I wrote it in two months because I was grateful for the gift of time to write, and I wanted to move forward in my story and in helping my kids with their stories.
Hello, My Name is… Warrior Princess
Abused and molested by her stepfather, feeling unseen by her mother, a girl who felt lost and alone who wanted to be strong for her sister. A date rape survivor who continued her bravery through her shame. After infertility, 15-years of foster parenting, seven pregnancies, 3 miscarriages, a hysterectomy, adoptions, and long-term foster care, she’s now mom to 18 children. Jenn is a Coach, Motivational Speaker, blogger, podcaster, and proof there can be happy endings!
The book is her story, which prompted her desire to share other people’s stories, so Jenn started “At A Crossroads with The Naked Podcaster – Baring it all Emotionally and Spiritually”, to share the transformations of others through their struggles using the podcast platform. Tune in to Jenn and her guest’s journeys to finding spirituality, stepping into who you are, gaining confidence, being raw and vulnerable through storytelling, and the freedom that’s gained through sharing where you’ve come from.

When I signed up with Jenn I had no idea that it was possible to be joyful. I couldn’t see the joy in my life even though I knew it was there. Jenn helped me not only identify the joy but see how much I had to be grateful for. Each day starts differently because of Jenn and her coaching. I highly recommend her if you are ready to turn the switch from negative to positive.

Jenn’s writing never feels fake. It’s not syrupy sweet. In many ways, she’s confronting the gender expectations that come with female memoirs – the touchy-feely stuff. She is writing telepathy. I like her writing more and more as I read it. I don’t like what happened to her, but I am astounded at her account of it. She is almost Hemmingway-esque. Brutal. Brash. Honest. It’s refreshing!
Couldn’t Put It Down!
Couldn’t put it down. I found myself completely immersed in Jenn’s story. Her honest and open recollection of her experiences from a child to an adult were “challenging” at best. I couldn’t image growing up with so many challenges – she has earned the title “The Warrior Princess”. Thanks for sharing and allowing us to learn through your experiences. I look forward to your next!
An Honest, Fast-Paced Journey Back in Time
Jenn courageously takes us on a journey back in time, retelling and reliving her trauma, abuse, sexual exploration, and how all of that played their role in her growth into a woman – the Warrior Princess that she’s become. This is a fast-paced book, so be sure to put your seatbelt on. I found myself remembering stuff about my childhood as I read through certain chapters, and I smiled, cringed, and I all-around had a good time. I recommend this book if you’re wanting to know what a courageous person sounds like and if you’re wanting to take a hard look at your own life. This was a great read.
Jenn’s story empowers us all to rise above our circumstances.

A Warrior Woman, Indeed
5.0 out of 5 stars
Jenn shares her life story and ends each chapter with tips, wisdom and goals for all of us to consider. Jenn writes in a way that is enjoyable and fun to read. She also has a wonderful sense of humor. I found myself giggling when during her early years, a boy told her that she would be liked more if she cursed less. Jenn talks about taking that to heart, and I busted up laughing when a few pages later she has the “F word” in her book. Jenn is brave, courageous, loving and a warrior. Her story is relatable to anyone who grew up in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. She is also a survivor who was vulnerable in sharing her experiences with trauma and with her resilient spirit. Thank you Jenn for sharing your story.
